Attend Aliso Viejo Green Initiative Public Workshop
ANNOUNCING THE NEXT ALISO VIEJO GREEN CITY INITIATIVE WORKSHOP
Thursday, December 1, 2011
At the direction of the Aliso Viejo City Council, the City’s Department of Planning Services is leading the Green City Initiative (GCI) process and will be producing the resultant Green City Plan expected to be completed in early 2012. The GCI is an effort to implement sustainable living practices into everyday City life. The intention is to increase energy efficiency, reduce energy and water consumption, and reduce waste stream flow.
Public education and outreach is a major component of the GCI program. To this point, the City has conducted nine Workshops. The first six were dedicated to public education. The Fall series of Workshops shifted the focus of discussion to IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGIES for incorporating sustainable living practices into part of our regular and daily lives. Previous topics discussed for Implementation Strategies included Energy, Water, Transportation, Vehicle Management, and Recycling & Waste Management.
The next Workshop, Workshop No. 10, will continue the Fall series and will have as its next topic IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGIES for LAND USE. In addition, as Workshop No. 10 will be the last workshop on Implementation Strategies, there will also be a PROJECT SUMMARY of where we are today, and what the next steps will be. Workshop No. 10 will be on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2011, at:
ALISO VIEJO CITY HALL
12 JOURNEY
ALISO VIEJO, CA 92656
The Workshop will begin at 7:00 PM, and should last no more than two hours.
Hope you can attend, and looking forward to seeing you there.
